Abstract
High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) therapy on pelvic diseases requires sensory block of abdominal peritoneum and intrapelvic visceral organs, but sciatic nerve has to be preserved to prevent iatrogenic nerve injury. Epidural anesthesia with catheterization is suitable for dense selective block, early recovery, and postoperative analgesics with PCA. Adequate catheter position and infusion regimen is proposed in this case.
